Who makes up Business Support at Gilbert + Tobin?
Business Support encompasses the firm’s Operations and Support teams, which provide a range of services to the legal practice groups. These groups include Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Knowledge Management, Library, Marketing, Business Development, Services (catering, reception and mailroom), Support (secretarial and word processing) and Risk Management.

Do lawyers and Business Support work together?
Teamwork is an important part of our culture. Producing excellent work involves collaboration between lawyers and Business Support staff.
Of course, it’s not all work. Our firm hosts and sponsors a range of social, charity and corporate team events each year, and our lawyers and Business Support staff regularly participate together in social and sporting events.

We look for individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm and professionalism. Our Business Support people are self-motivated, energetic and smart; effective communicators who understand the importance of confidentiality and client service.

How do people receive feedback on performance?
At Gilbert + Tobin, formal performance reviews occur annually, but managers are also encouraged to provide regular meaningful feedback outside of formal reviews. This ensures open communication and helps to focus your ongoing career development.
