At Gilbert + Tobin, we are committed to employing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians in our firm as part of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). We are especially passionate about increasing the representation of Indigenous people in the legal profession.
We provide employment opportunities in a number of ways:
Gilbert + Tobin Indigenous Cadetship Program
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in LLB or JD programs at Sydney universities are invited to apply for the Gilbert + Tobin Indigenous Cadetship Program. Cadetships are undertaken at our Sydney office.
The program supports students as they complete their studies by offering practical and challenging work. Cadets typically work one day per week at the firm during semester moving through legal administration, legal research and a number of practice areas over the duration of the cadetship. Cadets may work additional days during semester breaks.
We also encourage applications from suitably qualified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants for a range of roles in our legal and business support areas.
